Summer Of The Trailer Park Boys…

It may come as a surprise to a few of you, but I love to camp.. and so does R.  So “camping” may be a bit of a stretch. These days it is more like glamping. When we first started dating, we camped in tents and cooked over an open fire.  Over time, my packing for camping took on a life of its own and we had to graduate to a camper.

It has really allowed us to enjoy the camping experience even more and do so comfortably.  We have all of the comforts of home, stove, A/C, refrigerator, microwave, full washroom…  I honestly don’t know how we did it before.

This is our first year that we will have a seasonal spot up in our favourite place, Hecla Island here in Manitoba.  We will park the camper in May and that is where we will be spending most of our free weekends and vacations this summer.

We take the dogs with us, and take the time to just relax and unwind. Just think, maybe with any luck this time next year we will be camping with baby!  I’ve been reading the blogs and it is apparently very manageable, it just comes down to packing for every possibility. So I’m set, I’m a notorious over packer!  We are good. Bring on the summer!!

  1. With your packing….when you bring the baby….I’m guessing R drives the Tundra with the camper and you buy a SUV to pull the utility trailer full of baby stuff!!!!! I’ve seen the “glamping” first hand! šŸ™‚

Oh no replacing a wine bottle with a baby bottle camping will be a different experience! šŸ™‚

  3. I’ve been to Hecla Island, but our family camping trips as a child during the summer were to Falcon Lake. As an adult, I prefer hotels. šŸ˜‰
